I wonder what this would look like in cursive. If you’re using quills you can’t lift the quill too much or else you’ll spray ink everywhere (It’s even worse with fountain pens, critical documents were destroyed by pen malfunctions)

I once tried to translate pony language (as you can see in my post history under ‘theory, written equestrian’ - I came to much the same conclusion on unicorn script, though the spiral seems to be a more vague sense of achievement, I would suggest.
 
Nice thought on the asymmetry and root, I hadn’t thought of that before! Hold on, i could give you a tool to further develop this.
