There’s nothing wrong with keeping something negative you have to say about a character or subject to yourself but not everyone’s like that. You don’t like FoE or little pip. That’s fine. You keep that to yourself. That’s fine too. Not everyone is the same way but as long as someone isn’t going going around spamming hate on every image and keeps their comments relegated to the relevant images and forums, its fine.

Nyx is good not by her disign (M6 are good by disign because they are static endless show’s characters without past and without future. They must be like that.) but by her story. There are tonnes of fics with reincarnations of NMM in one way or another. Nothing strange NMM always was a popular character which disappears quickly. But none of them even close to the level of “Past Sins”.
I never read FoE and have a prejudice over it because I’m not a fan of Fallout (I tried to play F4 and as a shooter it looks a total shit for me) but at least I say nothing about Little Pip.
I came from the furry community and they’ve been trolled on for so long and so badly that bringing up the topic has been a bannable offense on 4chan for over a decade.

I guess they did win. And I’m perfectly fine with that. OC’s rarely make me read fanfics and Nyx wasn’t interesting enough for me to actually check Past Sins out. Will I ever read it? Will I ever like Nyx or at least not to dislike her? Probably not to any of those but that doesn’t mean no one can like her or the story she’s from just because I don’t.

Many of the haters just look at her as a Nightmare Moon clone that is overpowered and/or godlike without any real basis for their views on her. They effectively look at the cover of the book and judge everything on that alone.
If they actually read the book they would see what is actually happening and all of the info regarding the character and her existence overall. The best way for someone who blindly hates Nyx to form their own opinion is to gather the information on her and read the book for themselves.
Easy answer for me here. I don’t like either of them. Cozy deserved what happened to her and I’ve never read Past Sins (nor do I plan to) and the Nyx spamming back in the day spoiled her for me forever. Find better bait next time OP.
I think it can be interesting to compare Nyx with the biggest Martu Stu character in history. With Jesus Christ. Seriously he’s really perfect. They both were born without sex both have a near god power (Nyx is just Greek Goddes) and both sacrifice themself to save everybody. I’ve suspition that this could be the main idea Pen Stroke sometimes uses such allusions and the end of “Creeping Darknes” where Nyx with slightly different concept appears reminded me about Moses’es story.

I never said that I simply understand that Nyx’s story as Nightmare Moon reborned as a filly ends in “Past Sins” and I don’t see what can be get from it. She becames just another child. If somepony don’t like her after everything she had done, OK just tell it in Twilight’s face. From other side young alicorness living among mortal ponies can be really interesting. If you haven’t noticed there’re very few fan-art and fan-fics with adult CMCs but a lot (for OC) of adult Nyx.
Simple thing. There’re 100k fan-fics on fimfiction.net. Nobody would even notice another bad one. Even in 2011. But Nyx somehow became popular and many people hate everything that’s popular. They just think that they are smart and everybody else is stupid cattle who watch bad movies read shit books and etc.
Another simple thing there’s no problem in accepting or not-acceapting a fan-fic. But many fans can’t accept that official episodes and characters like Himmler or Cozy Glow (Unlike Himmler I can’t invent a hate-name for her in English :( ) are pieces of shit and have nothing in common with the show they fell in love years ago. So they refuse to accept the truth. Funny enough they refuse to see the very same shit in Himmler or Cozy Glow they blamed Nyx in the past.

To be honest, I don’t think that’s a good approach in winning acceptance of Nyx. Past Sins is well above average as fanfics go, but it’s not completely breathtaking either. I think it is the idea of Nyx that people really like or dislike, and opinions on Past Sins the fic follow that.
I still say everyone needs to just read the Past Sins story and stop basing all of their info about the book on haters remarks on it. Read the damn thing yourself and make your own conclusions instead of riding the Nyx-hate bandwagon raw already.
In fact “Past Sins” is nothing more or less but mature version of MLP. And everything in MLP since 5th season is nothing more or less but “Past Sins” perverted and reverted version. Crime, love, friendship, forgivnes, redemption,… take everything in “Past Sins” and you will find it ruined in MLP. Even the idea of dangerous child. From this point of view Cozy Glow=(not Nyx) just as Starshit HiMMler=(not Nyx).
While Nyx is interesting semigoddes born an a child of CMC’s age and suddenly turned to adult semigoddes mare which looks perfectly normal for MLP world, Cozy Glow is something that simply can’t exist in MLP world. Nyx when she is adult thinks and speaks like adult Cozy Glow been a child tells bullshit which simply can’t come to a child’s head. Why she can’t be placed in corner for a couple of hours by any adult? She is not even unicorn to be dangerous because of magic. And etc.
