Pretty sure in this context Republican isn’t used like American Republican but…in the “Democratically Elected Leaders” sense, since Equestria is a Monarchy and Luster wants to turn it into…you know…a Republic?
One has countless millennia of experience on her shoulders, the other has a club foot and can barely count to 5

I have been getting annoyed for a while over people confusing democratic and republican governments with the Democratic and Republican Parties.
they meant like in the first broader definition of republican, as in, someone who’s for a republican form of government, for a democracy.
As a republican, I’ve been called worse then a “traitor,” frankly. (And my viewpoints aren’t all strictly republican, but I’d rather not debate politics now.)
