Yes, we remember it, and part of the problem was that Discord didn’t. After being betratyed and drained of his magic by Tirek once, he didn’t seem to have a problem giving him more strength right off the cuff, then sending him and two equally malevolent criminals to fetch a magic-draining artifact, and treating his claim of not retrieving the artifact with no suspicion whatsoever.
 
I could forgive Discord if he turned himself in and agreed to at least thirty moons of this.

And then he gets backstabbed by Tirek…as if no one was expecting that.
 
Not to mention, Discord has a history with screwing with others just for his own amusement to the point where it’s overkill: Twilight, Cadence, Starlight, etc.

And I seriously thought that these pointless redemptions of Garble and Ahuizotl (who I honestly think are the two most evil minor villains) would be a setup for these three to reform! But it all turns out to be one big joke! I mean, the former admitted he would commit genocide if he became Dragon Lord, and the latter planned both an 800-year drought and an eternal night in Somnambula! If they can reform Garble and Ahuizotl, then they can definitely reform these three. They were stupid final villains with a very stupid final fate.
 
So, I’ve been wanting Queen Chrysalis to reform ever since the Season 6 finale. I really wanted to see what she would look like metamorphosed. I know, we have plenty of fanart for that, but I’m talking about if it was canon.
 
After I found out Cozy Glow was evil, I wasn’t all that surprised, but I kinda wanted her to reform too. After all, she is just a child.
 
Now, Tirek? I didn’t think much about him but after he joined the Legion of Doom, I knew it would be either all of them or none of them (turned out to be the latter). And the idea of Tirek reforming sounded so unexpected, and so silly, that I decided to go along with it.
 
In conclusion, these three should have reformed, or at least should have just been Grogar’s bumbling henchmen who would get defeated along with him. Otherwise, all their character development this season was just pointless.
 
And seriously, they can’t just bring back a beloved villain from G1, get everyone excited about him, and then toss him out the window! People say that Grogar didn’t have enough character development, and that this season focused more on these three, but honestly, I think the finale would have been the perfect time to build up Grogar’s character, and show how cruel and sadistic he really is. Heck, I expected he’d commit some crimes that you otherwise wouldn’t see in a candy-coloured cartoon.
 
I may be a Background Pony but trust me, I know how this show works. I’ve been a fan since early 2013.

The whole season final was a disaster. Reforming the Daring Do villains and completely contradicting Ahuizotl’s character. Making Scootaloo’s parents a couple of neglectful assholes. Building up a heap of hype about the princesses retiring as though it’ll be the driving point of the series and instead shuffling it aside for their usual pointless filler episodes. Making Discord Grogar and then letting him get off-scott-free. Marrying Big Mac to Sugar Belle as though his relationships with Cheerilee and Marble Pie didn’t happen.
