Well if Li-ion is recycled responsibly, all the precious metals, e.g. the harmful ones, can be reused in new battery chemistries. Yes, plastic wrapping and anode/cathode spacer usually goes to the landfill, but the bulk of the material in li-ion is 100% recyclable. Also, the time it takes for electric vehicles to offset the carbon emissions used to produce the car and battery are less than the average time a car is owned by the first owner, making them better for the environment than ICE cars. It’s not perfect as the production of EV’s still produces emissions, it’s a good start in the transition of sustainable energy!
Also, electric vehicles are WAY more efficient than internal combustion engines. Even at their worst, say 86% efficiency from outlet to driving output, they are bounds better than the best a combustion car can maximize from gasoline which is about 17% of the available energy stored in the chemical bonds.
The future is looking bright! Love the Cybertruck too.

I love this, I love the cybertruck. Sad it had to be electric there are far better more efficient technology that could have been used because batteries are extremely not environmental friendly and are actually worse than gas or diesel engines I know this because I scrap them. I process them myself but 95% goes to landfills.

This however is true. Honestly if Tesla was Elon’s only business I’d hate his guts, but seeing as Tesla is essentially a funding pipe for SpaceX I don’t care how dirty a business it is.

i know. the only way we could have fully electric vehicles without needing to charge them every 200 miles, is to try and install a solar panel on them which wouldnt look good and wouldnt always work. i know we can try carbon neutral fuels but thing is that not everyones on board with the idea.

I believe we can be environmentally responsible without this mad rush to adopt electric vehicles. What we need is reasonable regulations and better fuel. People should not be punished for owning inefficient vehicles that are seldom driven. Carbon neutral fuel can be made from combining Co2 and hydrogen or from algae. If we could get airplanes and ships burning carbon neutral fuel it would do more good than everyone driving electrics.

exactly. at this point, i wouldnt be surprised if people started petioning to have these regualtions overturned because ill admit, i want them overturned so diesel engines can start being made again how they are supposed to be made.

this thing will never be as good as a conventional pickup truck. i’d rather drive a 2002 ford F350 with its legendary 7.3L powerstroke turbo diesel engine than this thing that looks like it was ripped out of halo

I’ll do you one better: School buses.

They don’t operate 365 days of the year, but they have a guaranteed ridership with guaranteed windows of time to change/charge batteries with multiple large depot areas.

A city bus has an erratic schedule with an unstable riderbase. Is it running late? Which stop is it stuck at? How many passengers is it going to pick up today? How big are the battery depots? Is the depot big enough to supply every bus that stops there? CAN you build the depots in the city?
