Always Welcome!
Thank you for this, one year later. Fully agree. 👏
Sometimes people can become too attached.
Even though the deceased person has moved on to a higher plane of existence outside of the corporeal world (and the person’s own body), some people are still thinking that they’re with them.
That may be true, but we cannot have a conversation with them since they exist as a soul (and eventually, move on, either to Heaven or hell, depending on their life choices. Everyone builds their own life.).
I know that atheists don’t believe this, but thankfully some respect the belief without saying it’s wrong or not real.
Heck, some of them even became christians. Even a satanist, John Ramirez, became a christian after a horrifying experience.
One thing, for certain, is that no self-respecting christian would tell someone to go to hell since they’re not flawless.
I may see something as wrong, but that doesn’t mean I’m perfect. I have a lot to work on myself (in terms of character). Christians can help guide and comfort people by offering alternative solutions to a problem.
Heck, any person with a conscience set on good and common sense can do that.
Sorry if I’m going in a tangent.

True.
Especially if the person being loved is dead
I think he’s fine, and over hated for petty reasons.
And I’m not a big fan of Trixie, but trying to murder someone isn’t her style.
I like him.
Also, having Trixie literally try to murder somebody feels a bit OOC to me.
But he isn’t.
His introductory episode likes to think that he is, as the entire “joke” of the story centers around the idea that Pinkie loves Maud but hates the nominally-analogous Mud Briar.
The simplest way to explain the difference is that Maud Pie is multi-faceted and Mud Briar is not. Maud has tons of depth and clearly intentionally exploits her underwhelming delivery as part of her sense of humor (most notably in her anti-comedy routines on stage.) The fact she normally shows no facial or vocal emotion underscores and enhances the few times that she does, such as how she smiles when she says she loves Pinkie, or how her voice becomes slightly more terse when she demands to reverse Pinkie’s trade of the party cannon for a rock pouch.
Mud Briar does not seem to be joking and has no depth at all; he is just an annoying prick, to the point that the writers made an entire episode just to bully him, in which the other characters frequently give him mean looks and even Maud says his petrified form is an improvement. (Of course, in her case it’s an extension of her rock fetish running gag, and she dutifully stays with him until they can cure him.)
I made Mud Briar more sympathetic in my fanfic where Trixie attempts to murder him (which I need to rewrite because I rushed the heck out of it for Halloween) than he ever was in the show where everyone puts up with him and that’s kind of a problem!
I don’t doubt that Mud doesn’t as well, just that his jokes fail due to him explaining the joke while Maud’s fail due to her deadpan nature.
Maud at least has a sense of humor.
He’s like Maud but male, so there’s that.
He’s alright at worst.
He’s cool, though I’m a bit jealous of him. Maud is so awesome.
