Villain decay is a *****.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that when they defeated Nightmare Moon with the elements, she turned good. And now that they defeated Discord, he had, at least, a change of heart in which is he is more sympathetic now since he knows the consequences of his actions. Fluttershy basically tamed a wild animal by befriending him.

I felt that this episode could’ve used something…more. I don’t know how to describe it, but a few other S3 episodes had it… Maybe it’s because Faust is gone, so some of the episodes lack some depth and variety?
 
Either way, it’s good to see that Discord was de-eviled, but still remained a cosmic jokester/eldritch abomination. You can never defang that sexy beast…

he always was more neutral than anything, he just didn’t give a crap about what his actions did to others. tbh, this is the first time, at least in a long time, that someone has even shown an interest in trying to help him in any way instead of just trying to kill or imprison him.
 
I’ve heard of at least one school shooting that was stopped by someone that had once been nice to the guy with the gun, so the guy with the gun was willing to listen to him. I kinda think this was along a similar vein.

It’s all a ploy to corrupt Fluttershy and break apart the mane 6 from the inside. He can’t just mind rape them like last time. It’d be too obvious.
