He’s just a more Buff Garble. It fits with late Teen/Young Adult Dragons. Though a Simmer design would have been nice I’m fine with this. Who knows how he’ll look as he grows tho!
 
Maybe we could have borrowed from Smolder’s design a little.

I know right XD I just posted it for the meme, and people are turning this into a fat vs buff debate lol. I just don’t like the design, I don’t think it works with Spike’s kid design. I much prefer the sort of slimmer designs I’ve seen. I think the problem is that the design does look too much like his fantasy design, and I’m not really sure, it just doesn’t work for me. It’s off putting I suppose. I think it’s more that he really doesn’t look like a dragon, in my opinion, he looks more like uh… bad cosplay design? I dunno.

If you wanna look at a fat dragon, take a look at Sludge, the dragon that pretends to be spike’s father. He is fat. Clearly extended stomach and more round than lean and tall.

Well ironically, I am about 90 pounds at age 24, so I am severely underweight, but that does not impact my opinion. I’m basing that on the show’s art style, he doesn’t have clearly drawn muscles like Tirek and Bulk Biceps do.

Spike is now basically a Teen Dragon in body form. He is much older though in mind. Remember Dragons Age much slower. They can love for a VERY VERY VERY VERY long time.
