Their goals also could intertwine, as Rarity could design some kind of outfit for Dash’s performances, which would in turn, advertise for Rarity and get her more business.
 
Rainbow dash hasn’t really took issue with rarity’s outfits since way back in the first half season one (Rarity helped her personally in the season 2 finale), and it’d be the two most ambitious ponies working together for great justice!

I think in Sonic Rainboom the sheer velocity allowed Dash to be able to carry Rarity plus all the Wonderbolts. Just flying at a regular speed like this, I think it would be a lot more awkward for her.

Dash caught carried rarity and all the wonderbolts on her in a much more awkward man, and at a much higher velocity, with a full 90 degree turn.
 
Something like this would be cake to her.

Yeah, sitting sidesaddle on a pegasus would be kinda awkward. Rainbow must REALLY be talented to be able to fly that way and keep Rarity from falling off.
