Busy procrastinating
Maybe Ahuizotl wanted to reactivate an ancient spa or sauna.

Then again, he should put the rings back together and lend them to the province of Whinnysota.

March Gustysnows: “Still cold here, don’tcha know.”

I mean, the entire point of the episode was that we only ever had Daring Do’s word to go on that what Ahuizotl was doing was wrong. There’s literally nothing that can prove what he was doing here wasn’t exclusively limited to Tenochtitlan as an attempt to stop treasure thieves from stealing any more artifacts.

No but go on, please continue with all of your cringey neckbeard conspiracy theories about how the writers actively hate the show and have never seen a single episode and are out to ruin it on purpose by changing the oh-so-sacred canon of a D-tier recurring character, or how a bunch of entitled fanboys with literally no writing experience whatsoever are somehow “better” at it. I begin to understand why everyone is so upset that they rehabilitate every villain of the show, with Caballeron I don’t see so much trouble (Maybe now that he and Daring work together fans can ship) but the problem was to make Ahuizotl look like a good guy, who is not bad but does his job to protect the jungle and its artifacts that Daring and Caballeron steal, and worse part that he used an artifact that prevents him from lying, the problem is that in his previous appearance he proved to be a villain by wanting to use Scorchero’s rings to condemn the world to 800 years of intense heat, which would clearly destroy the jungle that is supposed to protect, and this was not a version of Daring Do since the Mane six were right there.

It is incredible that even in a successful show like MLP continuity problems also occur, reason why the new scriptwriters also pay attention to old episodes.

Can’t we force writers to actually watch the show before attempting an episode?

They clearly don’t want to do that of their own volition.
Background Pony #AF95
Okay, but even head canoning your way past that, he still took waaaaaaay too much pleasure in leaving Daring Do to a painful death.

@Background Pony #D65B
Okay, but how does that explain why he’s doing any of that in the first place?

@ThomasFan45
That doesn’t make the writing less dumb. In fact it makes it more so because fans have to put in so much effort to explain what writers didn’t bother to.
Background Pony #12A5
This is amazing there are still people who will cling to and protect the dumbest idea spawned in the show, that doesn’t make any sense, breaking any logic established in previous seasons.
This way you only show how you love writers and how you hate MLP:FiM.

Makes sense.

If y’all recheck the transcript for Daring Don’t: the magic rings, the dark tower, control of the Fortress of Talacon, etc. was all limited to Tenochtitlan.

“You’re dooming the valley to eight centuries of unrelenting heat!”

“You know what’s at stake here! Ahuizotl has sought control of the Tenochtitlan Basin since book three!”

Now we know his motivation for doing so.

Probably went through extreme measures to make sure nopony stole the artifacts would’ve made sense.
