How do yunno that? We don’t know Chrysalis’ backstory! We just know her as a Queen, cause that’s all the info we got. What she was like BEFORE she was a Queen?

Buddy… actually watch Twilight’s
Kingdom, School Raze, A Canterlot Wedding, The Mean 6, and The Cutie Re-Mark, and tell me with 100% confidence that all three of them are not murderers, or don’t have it in them.

They are murderers.

@Background Pony #9983
At least like this, people can imagine for themselves what happens to them.
Background Pony #BCF8
@Smart Heart
I know. And their fates could have been even worse. I can only imagine the fanart.

we know Darth Vader was once Anakin Skywalker, a generally good guy that was led down a dark path. Chrysalis has no such backstory.
Latecomer

@Background Pony #6ED7
And then died rather than face an inconvenient war crimes trial. Plus, he was a good guy to begin with.

(Also, is saving your own son really “redemption” or just not crossing one last line?)
daniboyi95

@Smart Heart
and your logic is?
“Keep forgiving the guy that constantly tries to murder you at every chance he gets. Surely he will stop murdering you soon enough.”
Latecomer

@Smart Heart
If they’ve actually tried, perhaps they should be in prison?
Background Pony #9A44
@daniboyi95
So was Darth Vader! He killed thousands of Jedi, including Younglings, yet he still reformed!
Latecomer

@Background Pony #9983
All of them were black-hearted villains in all their previous appearances, fearsome enough to warrant two-parters. Why should they suddenly be demoted to bumbling henchfools? Murder is entirely in character for all of them.
Smart Heart

@Background Pony #9983
Right? Also, “Remember, kids. If someone picks on you or bullies you, kill them before they kill you.”
Background Pony #BCF8
@Smart Heart
And while they all attempted straight-up MURDER and a Chrysalis attempted to TEAR OFF SPIKE’S WINGS_… that’s the _WRITERS not them. They completely denied Frenemies and decided “Hey, you know what? Let’s get the henchmen to be the final antagonists!” Even if they weren’t reformed, they still could have at least been the secondary antagonists, the bumbling sidekicks. But no… just no.
Latecomer

@daniboyi95
Yeah, maybe the public should but I would be very wary if the executioner did. Especially if the one passing sentence was a major player in their invasion.

@Background Pony #9983
You can ignore it if you want, but that doesn’t change canon.
Background Pony #BCF8
@Smart Heart
Thank you for understanding.
Background Pony #BCF8
@Smart Heart
Ignore those people, they clearly don’t understand the show. All those people who like the finale are absolutely nuts. I know you should respect opinions but MLP has gone too far. This finale is just full of unforgivable continuity errors. I’d say The Big Mac Question is the last episode that is high canon and official. Their version of the finale is official but not canon. My version is canon but not official. I know it sounds complicated but it’s how I feel.

@Background Pony #6ED7
if we ever got evidence that Chrysalis had a shred of decency, your idea might have merit. But from what we have seen, she is 100 % pure nasty.
Background Pony #9A44
@daniboyi95
Think of Chrysalis as Darth Vader. His old padawan, Ahsoka, almost reformed him, but he gave in to the Dark Side. Much like Chrysalis’ giving in when Starlight tried to reform her. Only Luke was able to reform him.

Hmm… does Chrysalis have a kid? Oooo ideas being hatched!
daniboyi95

@Latecomer
dunno man.

If someone invaded my country, was close to destroying the very society, planning to kill countless of people, and then was captured, put against a wall and shot through the brain, I cheer like hell.
Latecomer

@daniboyi95
And you think she’s good enough to fool the best shrinks in Equestria, when they know that?

Anyway, one doesn’t have to forgive to use less excessive force. Was petrification truly necessary?

(And if it was, it should have been used regretfully and solemnly, and DEFINITELY not on Discord’s suggestion.)
Smart Heart

@daniboyi95
Plus, they were planning to kill each other.
daniboyi95

@Latecomer
Chrysalis got her chance and denied it.
Tirek and Cozy could have walked away from the whole scheme. Plus Cozy’s whole theme is literally pretending to be good to stab you in the back or use you.
Latecomer

@daniboyi95
Hard to tell when it hasn’t really been offered to them, has it?
daniboyi95

@Latecomer
“The Flim Flams are only interested in forgiveness as a way to sucker you”
Same could be said about Cozy Glow, Tirek and Chrysalis.
Latecomer

@daniboyi95
Trixie’s persecution was half in her own head to begin with, and her attitude didn’t help. The Flim Flams are only interested in forgiveness as a way to sucker you. And it’s Discord’s situation that contrasts so poorly with this one - although admittedly, that started with stone too.

They may not always, but they should try if they have the chance. Like when their enemies lie defeated and powerless before them.
