@Smart Heart
I’ve always felt the core message of the show was that there’s good inside everyone.
Remember how Starlight offered to talk to the pony of shadows? And no one even wanted to listen because it sounded ludicrous and naive? She also once told Chrysalis that she didn’t have to run from friendship the way she once did,meaning Starlight believed Chrysalis would eventually turn good but was just wasting her own time.

I think her tail is attached to Tirek. Anyway, regardless of what people say; I hope she does get redeemed. Otherwise the whole idea of redemption is pointless; it follows the whole “once a villain always a villain” mind set. I mean if Discord could turn good, anyone can.
@Luftybomber
Nothing to redeem. Chrysalis has been a Disney villain since day 1 and she’s only gotten more and more evil with every appearance. On top of taking joy in the suffering she causes through invasions and kidnappings, she demonstrated that she cared more about herself than her subjects in the S6 finale, reinforced that fact by prioritizing getting revenge on Starlight over trying to get her subjects back, and then threatened to tear off a preadolescent dragon’s wings.
Not sure why her fans keep lamenting over the fact that she didn’t get a redemption. You’re asking for crap story writing. Any redemption in the classical sense would have felt entirely out of place for her character, the way it’s been built up till now. Her character was designed to be a ruthless, selfish villain, and I’m glad she stuck to that. Defiant and vicious even in petrification.
@swordcat9
One thing I did notice is that Cozy is barely attached to Tirek or the rest of that statue at all. It’s possible that she’ll be freed first, after all, she’s probably the most open to redemption out of the three. Tirek and Chrysalis might never get redemption due to their repeated attacks on Equestria.
@Macharius
I completely agree! Bring them back in the next show! Besides, maybe when they realise Twilight and her friends are dead and long gone, they’ll start to turn good.
@Background Pony #501A
If they staff really do use their petrification as a plot device to transfer the best trio of villains in the entire show into G5 I will be legitimately impressed. Maybe even enough to forgive them dumpstering the theme of redemption that has always run through FiM with a group of characters that got an entire episode devoted to them almost realising that friendship is magic completely by themselves.
They are still alive in there and can be trapped there as long as either Celestia, Luna or Discord remain alive. I think we will see them again in G5. Tirek and possibly Chrysalis may be used to longevity but Cozy will probably totally break after centuries alone in the darkness
@AC97
The episode would have been much more interesting if Cozy surrendered to the Mane 6/royals in the middle of the episode, causing Tirek and Chryssi to lose their biggest asset in trying to take over Equestria.
Where did they say you could “redeem anyone with a simple conversation” in that season finale?
Starlight Glimmer: Honestly? We don’t know anything about him.
Starlight was hung up on not having insight on who the Pony of Shadows really was, while with these three: she’d already tried and failed with Chrysalis, Tirek wasn’t convinced by his own brother to stop, and Cozy Glow angrily made it clear it was all about power when Twilight asked.
As far as I’m concerned, there’s nothing to misunderstand in this case, especially when one of them literally sucks the vitality out of you out of pure selfishness. They’ve made their intentions crystal clear before.
