Notice how after they are defeated, Cozy and Tirek back away terrified for their lives. They pretty much knew at that point they have to give up and accept friendship, but Chrysalis remained defiant to the end. She ended up costing Cozy and Tirek their freedom with her refusal to give up until she got her vengeance.

I feel so disappointed. I hope, I HOPE it’s better in the actual episode, but to see Discord mess up everything so thoroughly and then be a smug *sshole about it after, I… can’t. I just can’t.

They only look fearful cause they were suddenly depowered, just look at the show before the caking happens, they are back to scowling. (not that the villains had any chance take the statement back tho)

I feel Cozy was ready to ‘pretend’ to be redeemed here. I feel like if she was actually having second thought and was genuinely scared, she would have looked at Chrys like “Dude what are you saying? She doesn’t speak for all of us!”

So this was all Chrysalis’s (and Discord’s fault)? Tirek and Cozy look scared as crap and probably would have surrendered, but Chrysalis had to run her mouth and idiotically condemn herself just like always. Why not just punish her with petrification and give the other two a chance (with a lesser punishment), now that they are unlikely to have any hope or defiance left?!
