I mentioned that the crux of the problem with Spike episodes is that you must drag down every other character for random, non-sensical reasons if you want Spike to shine, which happened in Equestria Games and Gauntlet of Fire, for instance.
I can tell that the average dragon would eat the average pony, indeed, because dragons are commonly portrayed as evil, scary monsters after all, especially in children’s fairy tales, where a dragon kidnaps a princess and holds her captive until a knight comes to the rescue, slays the dragon, and saves the day. The same thing was pointed out in the classic episodes, such as The Magic Coins, where a human prince mentions that he was going to slay a dragon to rescue a damsel, and Melody in That Plays the Thing, played the role of vanquishing a dragon to set her people free.

I mean Dragons on average are stronger, the princesses and mane 6 are the exceptions and even then 2 out of those 6 aren’t exactly fighters (pinkie at least gets by via cartoon nonsense). Most unicorns aren’t prodigies like Starlight and Twilight as the difference between Twilight and Rarity is astronomical so if you were to take the average dragon and the average pony the pony probably is just gonna get eaten. The MLP movie made it very clear that enough physical strength can make up for the lack of magic considering Tempest and a bunch of monkeys who cant be that much tougher then a dragon easily took over for a while

First off: you only just now imply that you’re not actually a Spike-hater?
Second: the reason I keep replying is because you do. It’s as simple as that. You stop replying, I stop replying.
MurtaughTheDragon

@Valiant Spiral
I don’t know why you bothered replying even though you’ve said that you were neutral towards Spike in the first place, and I haven’t said I hated Spike. But what I do know is that there are no justifications for Spike’s actions.

I wasn’t aware there was anything to justify. You keep boomeranging right back to the same arguments again and again, and no-one cares. Like @Swashbucklist said: Go away and blog about your issues about Spike-centric episodes instead of wasting everyone’s time by whining about them in a comment section.
MurtaughTheDragon

@Valiant Spiral
You didn’t come up with anything to justify Spike’s actions. So, no, I haven’t lost.
Once again, the crux of the problem with Spike episodes is that everyone else needs to get dragged down if you want Spike to shine. For instance, that’s why nobody came up with a contingency plan for the “giant,” jagged ice block scenario, and why they disabled the officials’ and princesses’ magic. It must’ve been a real challenge for the writers to put together, giving Spike a chance to shine while making sure not to throw all the other characters under the bus in the process.
If I had to choose between the Mane Six and Spike, I’d go with the Mane Six.

Ha! Took you 3 months to come up with that reply? Pal, don’t revive an argument you’ve already lost. And no, you can’t say “if you don’t like spikeabuse, don’t watch” on a picture that has no spikeabuse, therefore it’s irrelevant. This latest comment of yours serves no purpose other than a sorry attempt at having the last word.
MurtaughTheDragon

@Valiant Spiral
When you said that I “pulled excuses for hating Spike out of my ass,” those aren’t points but more like personal attacks, by the way, as if you only couldn’t justify Spike’s actions.
Also, I could say that if you don’t like what’s called “Spike Abuse” - in case you’re not familiar with it - then don’t watch.

Not what I see you doing, but whatever…
If you really want to ignore my points then fine; I honestly don’t care enough to show you all that you’re overlooking.
MurtaughTheDragon

@Valiant Spiral
Believe what you want, but I only pointed out what Spike did. I care more about the ponies and the Mane Six. Also, Spike didn’t appear in G5, but I don’t mind, and I never saw what the reason was for him to exist besides providing comic relief, anyway.

You’re just pulling excuses for your Spike-hate out of your ass. Everything you’ve been saying boils down to how you didn’t want Spike in the show. Well, news-flash: Spike’s a character in MLP G4 which has ended; get over it. You don’t like Spike content, then don’t look at it.
MurtaughTheDragon

@Valiant Spiral
Yeah, and if dragons were stronger than ponies - which they aren’t - she could’ve done the same again in Gauntlet of Fire. Spike got a chance to shine in that episode by preventing a couple of teenage dragons from stealing the ponies’ beds because they only thought it wasn’t fair they had to sleep on rocks. Garble, however, wanted revenge on the ponies without explaining why. Neither Twilight nor Rarity could handle those teenage dragons even though they’ve already dealt with other foes, such as changelings in the Canterlot Wedding episode. Torch, the dragon lord, and his daughter, Ember, appeared there without being mentioned before, and he was just there so the dragons would have a reason to compete in a race to become the new dragon lord. If Ember hadn’t appeared, then there’d be no one who could take Spike’s place as the dragon lord so he could stay with Twilight.
The same happened in Equestria Games, where Spike stole every credit for himself by running a short distance until he fell and almost shattered the Crystal Heart despite all the hard work the others did. Twilight told Spike to deliver the heart and risked herself failing Celestia’s test for the sake of the Crystal Empire, then Cadance caught them both and restored the heart herself. During the games, nobody came up with a contingency plan for the threat of a “giant” ice block. The magic-disabling spell they used to prevent cheating also seemed to have applied to the officials and the princesses of Equestria since they probably wouldn’t take the risk they’d become profoundly stupid and cheat themselves. Everyone could’ve taken care of that ice block situation, too, if only the conflict wasn’t arbitrary restricted and the episode didn’t give Spike the spotlight.
That’s the crux of the problem with Spike episodes. Every character must get dragged down for random, non-sensical reasons.

You are aware that Twilight was powered up by the magic from the other three Princesses when she faced Tirek, right?

First with the “Spike getting all the mares” nonsense, and now this…
Spike’s “character development” literally caused the entire show to derail completely.
MurtaughTheDragon

@Spiked Punch
No, Spike has always been the cause of many errors, mistakes… throughout the entire show. Actually, there are lots of things I’ve discovered and always knew a very long time ago about Spike’s character. It was Twilight herself all along who saved the Crystal Empire, not him. She knew where to find the heart, she found the hidden passage to it, she told Spike to bring it back, risking herself by failing Celestia’s test…

The writers had that in mind the whole time until the fans suddenly wanted them to change that because they were just sick and tired of Spike’s abuse, horrible treatments, and how he mostly spent his appearances in the shadows in all the previous seasons. They wanted them to put an end to the damage on Spike’s role, treatments… but never realized or wanted to realize that they’ve damaged the entire SHOW themselves because of that.

They couldn’t learn to get used to it and were too sensitive over that. He was meant only to be the simple sidekick and a goofy character that provides comic relief, screws up, embarrassing himself… usually, a simple background character. The episode “Princess Spike” where he completely messes up was one of his usual, typical roles, then learning his lessons… in “Secret of My Excess”… And in “Just for Sidekicks” where he looks after the Mane Six’s pets while they’re gone on adventures, no wonder why he was (supposed to) mostly left behind and only had few appearances throughout the show.

The show’s based on ponies, which means THEY are the ones who defeat villains, going on adventures… and the show became a total disaster because of the changes in Spike the writers did because of those sensitive fans. The episode “Gauntlet of Fire” had major flaws, as well, and MANY others, especially Spike episodes. All the more reason why there weren’t supposed to be and shouldn’t have been any Spike episodes AT ALL. I gotta say that the episode was written by the fans themselves. Twilight couldn’t handle some teenage dragons, (creatures who only could fly and breath fire, no magic, completely weak and harmless enough against powerful, magical ponies) but in other episodes like “Twilight’s Kingdom”, she confronts Tirek just fine, which proves that is just one of those stupid excuses from the fans to show Spike doing something good for once, just for once. Of course, he only hands over the specter to Ember. All this “character development” Spike got was a huge mistake made by the fans themselves, and totally caused the show to derail completely!

The writers of the show had to do those catastrophic changes just so those Spike fans wouldn’t stop watching the show and would have fewer watchers (or probably no watchers at all) and all their hard work on it would’ve been for NOTHING. They’d CANCEL the entire show, throw it away straight in the trash can.
