Unfortunately, it’s already known that Hasbro wants G5 to roll everything back to G3 standards. They hate us now, because we demanded quality products and encouraged kids to as well, and they’ve apparently long hated that the show’s team created something EVERYONE can enjoy and not just dumb fluff to sell toys to little girls. That’s why they had G4 end, and it’s also why we no longer have things like those scale Funko vinyl figurines or those super-accurate high-quality plushies. And from what we know about G5, it seems they plan to have the same Mane Six but with new personalities, altered appearances and new voices, with Applejack receiving special note that she must not be in any way like her G4 counterpart–the new Applejack is gonna be a tiny grump who only works hard in the hopes of it making her grow.

Basically, yeah. It was some serious Digimon Adventure 02 ending vibes up in here. Not to mention the sheer laziness of Twilight becoming a literal Celestia recolour.
My problem with the last episode was just that the time skip was too jarring. It felt too disconnected from the rest of the series for me and felt kind of forced. I would have preferred just an episode about the coronation. Song was great though.
It is a fanfiction created by Princess Celestia, Hahahaha.
But seriously … I didn’t really like the final chapter … (in fact, season 9 is not one of my favorites, there were funny moments, but I still didn’t like it).
Maybe it was because the chapter generated more questions than answers.

My actual thoughts are that the book is actually reflecting her history; Each episode of the show is a flashback to a portion of her story. The cover may actually be a generic history book cover.
(Ugh… Now that you mention it, my joke about the ending was horrible…)

I still liked the episodes but I agree that Discord should be punished big time. Espically since he fucked over four villains that he could have easily told the heroes the moment he got them altogether as a chance to help turn their lives around.

I don’t think so. This Finale was like a bad version of McCarthy’s Twilight Kingdom in which everything was epic but Discord was also redeemed in that same episode, but here he just repeat his own mistakes from Twilight Kingdom and i doubt audience will find him sympathetic.
This is also a worse version of Best Gift Ever where instead Winterzilla he setup 3 dangerous villains and actually do harm to ponies and also destroy Tree of Harmony. Both McCarthy and Vogel would have planned it better if they were story editors as they used to.
