G5 is supposed to be “same characters in name and design, brand new world and premise” essentially.

I guess since this is still a kids show that they can’t answer the whole “Twilight will outlive her friends” thing - unless they bite the bullet and make G5 a direct continuation of G4 which would be interesting but unlikely
