I actually found Non-Compete Clause rather amusing, especially in the second half.
 
For me, season 8’s low points were Break Up Breakdown, Grannies Gone Wild, and Friendship University

‘AppleJack’s ‘Day’ Off’ and ‘Honest Apple’ were both okay episodes for me. Nothing great, but nothing bad either.
 
‘Non-Compete Clause’, however, is most definitely a low point of season 8.

None of those episodes are really that bad, though.

Season 9 is the most consistently good to me - they range from okay to fantastic. Most of the other seasons have really bad episodes (like Season 6’s “Applejack’s Day Off”, season 7’s “Honest Apple”, and season 8’s “Non-compete Clause”).

I’ll agree, that one wasn’t that great, but there were some elements that I enjoyed.
 
And so long as an episode has at least one good element to it, I can’t bring myself to call it bad.

Season 9 is prob. the worst. Half the episodes are good, but the rest of the episodes are either completely forgettable, or just wrong. Worst episodes: Sweet and Smoky, Going to Seed, and 2,4,6, greaaat.

It has been pretty excellent so far. Granted, the latest one* could’ve been better, but we haven’t gotten an episode yet where the entire fandom universally agrees is “bad”.
 
(*That episode being titled “2 4 6 Greaaat”.)

I kinda feel the same, but even then, the mediocre episodes of the 2nd half still have at least one enjoyable element that prevent me from hating them.

Worst evidence since flat earth.

I thought the first half was great. But the second half is just a hit and miss for me.
