At least they make up for it in DS2 by giving you a grenade launcher alt-fire

Oh, the pulse rifle is good in both DS1 and DS2, though the secondary fire in 1 is laughably terrible. It’s really useful against bosses, I find.
The Line Gun is actually amazing, the damage on that thing is insane! You can kill guys like this: https://imgur.com/a/JTbK0jm with one shot on “Hard” if you upgrade the damage at least once and shoot the arms. I think that Slasher variant is very creepy, by the way, just look at those tentacles!
The Ripper is just harder to use in Dead Space 1, but it’s not bad against this guy: https://imgur.com/a/JTbK0jm
You’re wrong, the Ripper doesn’t have bad damage, neither does the Pulse Rifle, just in case you think it has low damage as as well.
Okay then. Now I’m remembering about how in dead space 3 you can combine them into one dual-purpose weapon
Only in DS2. DS1 ripper was terrible, imo. Really floaty and didn’t do as much damage, even when upgraded.
The line gun isn’t that OP, wide cutting radius but only medium damage, and with low ammo and reload. The ripper on the other hand…
