Description

The day before Ponyville’s newly adultified stallions have to leave home for a few months to patrol the Everfree Forest and contain its denizens - a rite of passage known as “Everfree Duty” - can feel like the night before school and the final day of a holiday times 10.
 
As such, everyone - both the colts and their moms - deal with it differently.

I mean even if they didn’t necessarily want the level of attention being shown in your picture, there would likely be a few volunteers around to offer a more traditional variety of motherly love.

Well, to be fair, the lewd is a pretty big draw. Still, it never hurts to add some innocent and sweet stuff from time to time, for variety. The fact that it helps to flesh out the concept a bit is a nice bonus too.
 
On another note, will we be seeing any more of this in the future?

Yeah! I’d say if they’ve no longer got moms chances are another female guardian would end up doing the above, and I do really like the idea of other mares around town volunteering their own service for the town’s orphans, I wonder how many of the stallions would take up the offer though.
I can’t imagine why one would refuse such a generous offer, especially before such a significant event. I mean even if they didn’t necessarily want the level of attention being shown in your picture, there would likely be a few volunteers around to offer a more traditional variety of motherly love.
 
Although I suppose there could also be an issue if the colt in question just wasn’t interested in mares. Perhaps they keep a few fatherly types around too, just in case.

Oooh!! That’s actually a really cool concept!
Honestly the whole scenario is just kind of fun to think and ponder questions about. I mean, just off the top of my head, what happens to the colts preparing to set out who no longer have mothers? Would this special send off fall to another female family member, like a sister or aunt?  
 
And what about orphans? There’s bound to be a few of those going out to serve. Would some of the older mares in town who either didn’t have colts of their own or whose children were still too young for service volunteer to give those without a “proper sendoff”?  
 
It just really invites some interesting considerations, is what I’m saying.

I have to admit, there’s something about that part about casual intimacy not being uncommon that intrigues and stirs the imagination a bit. I mean, this seems like the sort of thing that obviously wouldn’t be an intended part of a young colt’s send off, but perhaps common enough (even the extreme version show here) that everyone knows it happens and just chooses not to talk about it. And if that’s the case, you can’t help but think as well that there would be services in Ponyville surreptitiously catering to the moms that do decide to take it that far, but again without anyone really discussing the fact that they do. I mean, if Rarity’s boutique starts offering special deals on a wide range of enticing lingerie around that time, or whatever passes for an adult entertainment store advertises products to make a first time memorable near that particular date, it’s surely just a mysterious coincidence.
