To be fair, after all those years on the moon, she might’ve forgotten what the post office was like. Either that, or she’s got a thing for the mundane.
 
Some other poster pointed out that Luna spends most of her time wandering through ponies’ dreams. She probably ADORES the mundane; it’s not like she sees it very often.
