The designs look way more G3 than G1.

The glossiness kind of deflects from the retro design, then again this is a ComicCon so they gotta make it look spiffy. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the toy style here is the 2nd stlye
 
I like the boxart. It looks like original packaging you would see back then. I can imagine if you went back in time to 1984 Toys-R-Us, this what I’d see on the shelf, when look the next Isle over an see the Transformers then head to the where the NES demo Keosk is. :b
 
I definitely harkens back to the 1980’s style ponies, well, except for the rainbow, that looked much different.
 
But considering twilight here, probably a good thing…
