Is that how that works? Because I think it’s been at least a year or two in-universe, and lacking alternatives beyond stewing in the hope of generic, supervillain revenge plans, they haven’t had many other options but to accept it and move on. The idea that they might actually be better off without the negative energy harvests has certainly been explored in fanfics before now, so it turning out to be canon seems pretty reasonable to me.

Is that now official or is that fake? I am confused

To be honest, I kind of hope that the time spent powerless in humanland hasn’t really reformed the Dazzlings.
 
I’d rather the song convey that they’re still kind of self-centered jerks, but have found a way to find satisfaction as self-centered pop stars, rather than as magical parasites. Absent further character development, the trio suddenly turning over a new leaf and achieving self-fulfillment through positive means seems a little abrupt. You don’t suddenly become a good person because you’ve lost your magical auto-tune, and given what we saw of them in Rainbow Rocks, a bunch of positive character development off-screen seems like a bit of stretch.
 
That said, I’m still kind of hyped to see it. Hoping for some new outfits, at least.
