Good for you. Sticking to a pairing you like and not just stopping liking it because it may or may not be canon.
 
Which is a little hard to say if Yonabar is strictly canon or not, since it may have just been two friends going to a dance, more so than a date in a relationship.
 
Don’t get me wrong, I do find Yonabar to be cute, but I like Ocelbar a lot more.
