i used to work in retail. there is only ONE customer whos story i cared about. it was an older guy. He was old school. had his walking stick and everything. Former military. he came in but sadly...age had caught up with him. he asked if there was a place to sit down. given he was suffering because of his bones and his age i figured i should let this one slide for once. so i let him sit down at one of the garden set units. (normally customers arent supposed to sit on em)

So he said thanks and said that he "Could not run around like he could in the army anymore". I was a little surprised. i asked him if he had served. he was all too happy to tell me some of his stories. i even ended up sitting down with him (getting paid to listen to military stories. Win!) anyway after a good ten minutes he felt a little better, we shook hands i thanked him for his service. he was the only customer i probably cared about. a little selfish i know but working in retail does suck the soul and happiness out of you after a while. Shame. i never saw him again.

Boss wasnt too happy but when i explained why he seemed to let it slide. oh well fuck him. i enjoyed what happened XD
