I still have a working USB attached floppy drive, haven’t used it since the early 2000’s myself…
I miss the internet we had back then, it was much more simpler and care free back then.
Yes; i was first introduced to computer around 2003 - they still had floppy disks and ball mouses then.
I just realized that’s two different forms of Twilight Sparkle…
@Vitruvius
It’s almost as much fun as playing with that springy thing behind doors!
Now I miss degaussing.
The first computer that my mom brought home was a Packard Bell 386SX desktop PC, if I remember correctly I think it did have one of those, but I do remember my last CRT before switching the early LCDs did have one.
I think it was a 20” Sony CRT with a resolution of 1600x1200. Weighed a ton, got rid of it in the early 2000’s.
Edited
That came on later screens (IIRC, the higher quality digitally driven CRTs had it). All you had on MDA screens was brightness, contrast, and focus.
“if they didn’t put the button here, it wouldn’t be meant for me to push it!”
Stop making me feel old.
I used to just play with that button when I was in school.
@Damaged
Remember the degausing button?
I cut my teeth on monochrome (I had a yellow one!) displays driven by a Hercules graphics adapter on my XT.
I am just old enough to remember those, actually.
(earliest memories of mine are playing computer games with my dad on an old 286 PC around 89 or 90, 5 1/4 inch floppies and all)
I think the stove gas is kicking in.
How hard did Sunset hit you?
