Well Equestria Girls stories seem to take place in the USA, as evidenced by how all the bills are green, where most schools don’t adopt uniforms & colleges almost never make you wear a uniform outside of sports activities.

I studied in Roman Catholic schools, here in the Philippines, so wearing school uniforms is strict and mandatory, complete with IDs, from Kindergarten to College, except in P.E classes, special occasions and holidays. Regardless of social and economic status, private or public.
 
If I would not be affected by the trope Catholic Schoolgirls Rule. AMEN.

As someone that has been to schools that had uniforms and one that didn’t, I don’t see what you guys are making a big deal about the or how it would change anything other then not having their cloths help make them stand out more.

The heck kind of High School did you go to? My High School didn’t have any uniform & if anyone suggested we adopt one everyone else just got angry, often including teachers.
 
& those characters you listed sound like fanservice that would be harder to put into the movie than what was in there.

It means that the teams working on the animated film spent too much time putting cameos (for example Bulk Biceps, Maud Pie, Octavia) and costumes too hot even for their intended audience to see, instead of, IDK, Fancypants, Sapphire Shores, Harshwhinny, Peachbottom, Zecora and Blueblood, and studying for (and passing) their major exams as a slice-of-life moment. Why can’t they make the students wear proper school uniforms (with some variations or Cutie Mark Badges) to make worth the budget, and let the audience know every character by just skin color, hairstyle and notable accessories.

May I add? Was Canterlot High deadbeat (heavily indebted) at the time? It’s not like they’re the only teaching staff around, but still… A lot of contests in my country have 3 to 5 judges (or talent scouts).
 
Headcanon: Principal Celestia teaches Theology, while VP Luna teaches Astronomy.

We are not talking realism. We are talking numbers. Spent so much on fanservice that they put only two regulars for judging. As for entertainment, they failed to entertain me with this.

This reminds me of my complaint that the show tries to convince us that Spitfire somehow does every job in the wonderbolts, from coordinating performances to training recruits to PR events to literally anything else they happen to think of.
