Emerald hides his frown behind his menu. He asks if being fed on by a Changeling hurts.
“No, they just drain love out of you. They just open up their mouths and breath in.” Joyride says with a laugh.
Emerald asks if afterwards he’ll start hating everyone.
“The opposite of love isn’t hate, lil’ perv. It’s indifference.” Joyride comments.
Emerald looks down at his menu contemplating this. Even though the menu is quite large, there are only a few things written on it. The text is packed right in the middle of the pages. He asks for the portabella mushroom steak. Joyride orders the same, and then Emerald asks if all spirits were as despondent as Cherry was.
“No. A good eighty percent of the time? Yes.” Joyride says with a nod.
Emerald asks if she has had a chance to speak with Olam since she’s been back. Maybe he could get a little extra potion work off of him.
“No. I’ve been working on my little project this whole time. It’s one of the reasons I had to send out Ruby. Had to use her to talk to people I can’t contact magically. Before you ask, I’m sure Ruby will tell you all where she has been today.” Joyride says, waving a hoof in a dismissive motion.
Emerald asks how she even finds these people in the first place.
“Just have to run in the right circles. Grease a few hooves. Keep a few secrets. Sleep with a few people.” Joyride says with a grin, “The bigger your circle of rogues is, the easier it gets to bump into more. Trouble has a habit of attracting trouble.”
Emerald asks if it’s true that Changelings can change into anything.
“Anything… Relatively pony shaped and size, yes.” Joyride says, grinning while raising and lowering her eyebrows.
Emerald asks what he is going to do about Ruby. Eventually she’ll figure it out, if she hasn’t already.
“I dunno.” She says with a shrug.
