I figure he just brought Cozy Glow along because she is imprisoned in the exact same place as Tirek and it wouldn’t be too much extra effort.

That’s completely true, but her success is largely a result of nobody suspecting her until it was (almost) too late. Now that her true nature is known, it’ll be a lot harder for her to abuse the trust of others, so I think her current usefulness may still be a bit limited.

The Storm King might not be the best choice either, and not just because his voice actor would be too expensive. He was pretty much only a threat because of the army at his command and the power he stole from the Princesses. Bringing him back would not gain Grogar either of these resources, and the Storm King’s ego would make him every bit as insubordinate as Sombra was.

Maybe he plans on unsealing the Pony of Shadows, and the real reason he recruited Cozy Glow is so he can let it use her as a host? They probably won’t go down that road, but at the very least it’s a fun “what if?” idea.

I’d wager he brought her in because among the villains available to him she knows the most about cooperation (sure the changelings as a whole cooperate, but pretty much all Chrysalis herself knew how to do was give orders).

I find it genuinely hilarious that Grogar considers Cozy Glow one of the most evil creatures in all of Equestria. Like, Ahuizotl’s out there doing his thing. He could’ve brought back the Storm King. But no, this Shirley Temple looking motherfucker has to be on the squad.
