Draw hard... I guess.
On the one hand, I’m relieved and pleased that I correctly called that it would be like Starlight’s going away in S7.

On the other hand, they said it will happen eventually, which probably means the season finale before.

Also, I thought the pacing of the episode was distressingly bad. I’ve never disliked a season opener.

At the end of the episode Celestia admits to Twi that it was foolish to give over their kingdom to Twi right away and that she needs more time to get used to it.
I read it as “Yes, it’s happening, but in the future and not now”
I also suspect that it’s going to happen at the end of the series finale, similar to how Magical Mystery Cure ended.

Evil
So the question is, was this a serious proposition by the both of them, or just another in a long line of ploys by Chessmaster Celestia to get her protoge to do better?

“Verily a most excellent jape, sister!”
