Consider you’re didn’t respond to any of the specific things I said I guess I must assume you don’t actual have any points to prove your stance. The changelings in the last few seasons are entirely different the ones we were ‘shown’ during season 2. Also your definition of terrible is only applied from the pony perspective. To her people she put herself in a dangerous position in Canterlot and led the way to a feast. Also ‘terrible writing’ applies to most of the decisions made for a few seasons now. ALSO, if my headcanon is what we were shown during the season 2 finale, hey, I have no issue with that.

I hardly call citing terrible writing from writers who never watched season 2 (or any of the early seasons for that matter as evidence). In canterlot wedding I never saw Chrysalis shoving/abusing any of her lings, never saw her say “Keep all the love for me, you will will feed later” or some shit. We saw her invading a capital city and having her lings go and feed. The new writers didn’t learn the ‘show’ not ‘tell’ aspect of writing. Chrysalis wins.

Cadance hasn’t exactly acted motherly on the show, she couldn’t even watch over her child in best gift ever and caused a disaster. Chrysalis has a 1000+ years of being a mother, the only mares who could compete would be celestia (if she had children at some point) or luna (stuck on the moon for a 1000 years), Cadance can’t compete. Doesn’t help that Cadance gave birth to an abomination to be fair. Chrysalis could shag Shining and give birth to 100s of cute baby buggos whenever she feels like it.
