Hasn’t watched the show since the end of season two She’s scared of ladybugs now?
Bats I can kinda get, most people are terrified of them in the region I live in, but I think they’re cute. But ladybugs? Lol, right before winter starts down here, ladybugs and stinkbugs will attempt to invade your home en masse, she’d have a heart attack if she wound up in SE Tennessee at the end of Fall.
My cleithrophobia still beats Twilight’s fear of…whatever this being is. Heck, I’d HUG this beautiful pony-bat-bug-quesadilla chick before being imprisoned.

Like a goofy looking monster in a horror movie? It’s supposed to scare you but you’re either confused or want to laugh at how absurd it looks?

Or she did have the fear, got over it at one point, and had a relapse. That happens sometimes. Speaking from experience with my own phobias, that has happened with me before.
That’s as far as an in-universe explanation goes. Out of universe, it was just a simple mistake. One that was honestly easy to make. The show is 9 years old and has gone through many different writers. Mistakes are bound to happen. I don’t expect them to know every single little detail about every single character. Even I, an avid fan of the show, forgot about that scene in the Breezie episode with Twilight and the ladybug. If I could forget about it and I saw the episode, then I’m sure other people could too.
The ONLY way twilight being afraid of lady bugs makes ANY sense is if starlight’s time shennanigans managed to knock a little bit of twilight’s personal timeline loose too. Otherwise, Twilight’s fine with ladybugs in the show.
