Hmm, my friend played MediEvil for the first time a few weeks ago and he also really liked The Lake. I have to admit, that part where you freeze the whirlpool is really unique and interesting, but those frog demons are extremely annoying anyway. I usually use the Magic Sword against them. But I agree with you on The Crystal Caves being one of my favorite levels. It’s definitely also one of my favorites, if not the favorite.
Exactly what I was thinking if we support the remaster and it’s successful then it’s likely the series will be continued which would be a dream come true for me, also your right about the ghost ship that level was HARD but something I find funny is that a majority of MediEvil fans talk about the lake being the hardest but even when I was a kid the lake was always my favorite level simply because of the part where you freeze the whirlpool with the magic machines and going underwater to see the giant blue sea elephants and I found the throwing axe to be very effective against the fish monsters and frog demons, the Crystal Caves level is also my favorite level because of the beautiful level design and relaxing music(the MediEvil soundtrack, in general, is just the best isn’t it) I can’t wait to see it in the remaster it’s going to look so beautiful.
Well, personally, The Ghost Ship and The Lake have always been the hardest levels for me, but Inside the Asylum also used to be pretty hard back as a kid. Still, the Pools of the Ancient Dead is always a level where I have to pay a lot of attention, or else I can easily fall down and lose a Life Bottle. Inside the Asylum is actually much easier if you keep your distance, especially if you throw the Axe at those zombies as often as possible.
And as for the MediEvil PS4 remaster, well, I would honestly have preferred an actual new game, rather than yet another reboot of the first one, like MediEvil: Resurrection for the PSP. Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to it, since I’m sure the newer graphics and everything will make for a brandnew experience, and if it’s successful enough we may finally look forward to the first MediEvil sequel since Medievil 2 all the way back in 2000.
A fellow MedEvil fan, I was hoping some people would recognise this! I feel the same MediEvil is my number 1 favorite game of all time, tbh though even though this level was difficult for a while I never was as frustrated with this level as I was with the Asylum level (which I will post a meme of soon).
