She was originally an alicorn, I changed her design to a hippogriff after the movie during season 8. So she's been around for a lot longer than Silverstream, only recently as a hippogriff.

While I never watched previous generations of MLP (avoided them like the plague really until FiM), I did reseal I had created an unintentional Firefly clone when I finally saw her.
