Discord & Pinkie (& maybe Lyra and Time Turner as well) are the only ponies to realize that Equestria is fictional. Discord and Time Turner are the only ones to know the exact expiration date of their world and do their best to party hard until the end.

What if Discord is aware that the series is ending and, basically, his world is going to die.

My big worry is that their ending is going to be something that tries to outdo the Tirek fight for being epic and awesome. That’s not really in the spirit of Equestria. If you’re going to make the series finale a save Equestria plot, they at least could have the decency to make it a three-parter and spend the majority of the third part visiting ponies getting their lives back to normal for the slice of life that we know and love.

Think of it like having 9 symphonies. Anything more means you’re into big-C Classical music and they’re almost all boring as shit.
 
Personally, I’d prefer 10 or 11 seasons with the final two (or three) being no more than 17 episodes each. Maybe they’ll have a mid-season hiatus in S9 to be like two 13 episode seasons instead of a single 26 episode slog. The main reason is so MLP could bump two or three spots in the chart of “longest-running animated TV series” without becoming The Simpsons, and having only 10 more episodes than the 26 episodes we assume are in S9 would bump them 3 or 4 spots over where they’re projected to land.

I agree with you guys. Even way back when the leaks first came out, I accepted that the show was coming to an end and think that it’s for the best that it does end before it becomes a shell of its former self.

Well shit.

They have no good reason to end this show, unless it hasn’t been making enough money to continue being produced. Just saying.
 
Now I just wonder if there will be another show good enough to make me feel as happy as FiM did. I highly doubt G5 will be something comparable to G4. It probably will look like G3 from what I saw.

Originally the December 2017 leak did say something about Equestria Girls continuing past the last episode of FiM. So I guess we will probably get some shorts for Equestria Girls in 2020 at least.
