Ok now the syllable count matches for the first line, but the flow is still off because the song goes “soon ONE small thing be-comes TWO”. That means to fit the flow, it would have to go “one THING turns to two-three, FOUR” or “first ONE and then two-three, FOUR”, neither of which have the same ring to it. This is why song-writing and (especially) parodies can be difficult. Everything has to fit the rhythm and flow while sounding good at the same time.
 
You are correct that I seem to have miscounted the syllables in the second line, though.

Here’s a seven syllable version of the first line: “One thing turns to two, three, four.” Or maybe: “First one and then two, three, four.”
 
But you’re wrong about the second. The original version has nine syllables. “Af-ter two per-haps an-oth-er few.”
