Also, to answer your question, featured images are voted on by staff. Each staff member picks an image to nominate, and then staff vote on any of the nominated images. Each voter can pick between one to five nominations to vote for. Each pick counts as one vote for that nomination. The nomination with the most votes wins and will be featured in the next cycle. Voters can’t vote for their own nominations.
