It’s weird how noseboops happen ALL the time in this show, but when a canon couple does it, the show makes it seem like a pony’s way of kissing. You can even see in this same gif that a romantic gesture with Sugarmac and Brightbutter can be done with FAMILY MEMBERS and even a BABY.
 
I mean… there are a lot of folks even in the US that will kiss babies or family members. Not usually on the lips, of course. Maybe in Europe they go in for that more. But if you imagine ponies as kind of “super-Europe” in this respect (being almost absurdly touchy-feely) it makes more sense.

I don’t think it’s all too weird. Some human couples ‘nose kiss’ each other too. But it’s also done in platonically too. Like, some humans family members doing that with their babies too.
 
I feel my comparison with hugs also works well here too.

I have to say, I’m really impressed by the compression this site uses. The GIF as I originally made it was just about 25 MB, and now it’s only about 15.
 
On topic, I’m curious to see how many more hoops we’ll have in the rest of the season.
