I mean… there are a lot of folks even in the US that will kiss babies or family members. Not usually on the lips, of course. Maybe in Europe they go in for that more. But if you imagine ponies as kind of “super-Europe” in this respect (being almost absurdly touchy-feely) it makes more sense.
I can see what you mean, though I think the most likely reason for this is that Hasbro doesn’t show enough kisses with their canon couples >:v
I don’t think it’s all too weird. Some human couples ‘nose kiss’ each other too. But it’s also done in platonically too. Like, some humans family members doing that with their babies too.
I feel my comparison with hugs also works well here too.

Noseboops are the pony equivalent to hugs confirmed: if you get one from your crush you blush but hugs between platonic friends are a-okay.
Speaking for myself, I view mostly on my phone. Outside of this site, webms don’t work.
As for what I use, I use FastStone to convert images to GIF format and stitch them together with unfreez.
and it’s lossless compression, too :3
Really though, webms are waaaaay better… idk why ‘gifs’ are still a thing
Do you use GIMP or something to optimize the gif? That could be part of the reason the file size drops so much when uploading to Derpibooru… idk, maybe
