that’s fascinating, the thought that wearing regalia shows how anyone could lead, since anyone can put on regalia, even if only she can have that coloration and abilities. usually leaders wear regalia to make it look like they can’t be matched by others.

Also she can hypnotize. Lamias are like ponies with three distinct kinds, venomous ones, constrictors, and hypnotizers. Kalianne, for example, is a venomous one. The queen’s like the lamia equivalent to an alicorn, having all three abilities, which like ponies is a very rare thing and typically only royals are that. :D

So shes both a Venom snake and a constrictor…? That messes with my Zoologist brain something furious.

It’s because they pride themselves on the colors and patterns of their scales. Wearing jewelry is seen as an attempt to cover up one’s unimpressive colorations, like an obvious comb-over to hide baldness. She wears jewelry to challenge the idea that appearance relates to ability to lead. And lol yeah that was a typo XD

We’ve just only seen the friendly ones of mine. There’s good and bad ones just like ponies. Of course, becauze they live so far away and because of fears and stereotypes they’re commonly believed to all be aggressive monsters that eat ponies (a lamia that did such a thing would be seen as repulsive murderer by other lamias). And yeah I’m trying to use more red in ways :D

I’ve got a lamia Queen in my little mlp universe myself. She’s very long and maybe a bit too nice for her own good. Also one of her daughters is a sociopath and that’s a pretty big issue… my lamias arent all as friendly as yours are.

I think I mean phylogenetically related, not (in)direct family lines – that business with the royals of Europe being interrelated and “inbreeding to the point that schizophrenia was a sign of nobility,” as Servo said, really gives me the willies, true or not.

Holy absolute shit she’s GORGEOUS.

Either the slimia idolizes her or absolutely despises her for having the best of both worlds with constriction and venom (and then some). And goodness, those streaks along her tail are so elegant! Kinda reminds me of certain decorative knots at this angle too, haha.
