True, I could see that happening in a comic or something or a episode that expands upon it more given discordant harmony when we know shes loves his chaos and has her own personal tastes for it. She was pretty excited about it to xD this will be fabulous

I think it’s less “choose to ignore” and more “choose not to push their luck”. Fluttershy’s friendship with Discord is the only thing keeping him from wrecking Equestria the way he did a thousand years ago, and the other ponies know that. They’re not going to risk undoing her work.

Its a consistant plot hole. Everyone knows Discords weak point but they choose to ignore it in both What about Discord and Matter of Principals.
