Nice.
That one must’ve passed me by. (80s kid here ^^)
I still have a Talkboy, lol (’90s kid here.)
Nah, what’s PC these days is to just avoid genders at all. Like Pokémon dropped the memorable “are you a boy or girl” line.
Anyway, I can think of one company that did this marketing gimmick in the 90’s. There was this recorder from the movie Home Alone 2 called the Talkboy and they released a pink one at the same time called the Talkgirl.
Lol true enough, but it’s still the sort of marketing gimmick I’d expect them to pull regardless. Maybe more so nowadays than back in the 80s/90s though… :)
Yeah, they had an official 4-player adapter, but very few 4-player games.
The best 4-player GB game was “Faceball 2000.” I like to think that’s what they’re playing here.
@Yet One More Idiot
I still knew alot of girls whom loved the Gameboy. (This was back before everything had to be “gender neutral.”)
Some girls state it was the first “boy” they fell in love with.
I looked it up and they did make some pink ones but only in Japan (and they were still marketed as “game boys”).
Y’know what always kinda amazed me, I’m still surprised that Nintendo never released a version exactly the same except moulded in pink plastic and called a GameGirl, so they could double their market. :P
Yeah, he posted an image of the Game Boy Pocket. There was also the Game Boy Light. It was basically a version of the Game Boy Pocket only sold in Japan with a backlit screen.
Erm, not quite, that’s a later model. Here…
(Can you hear the classic Tetris theme music in your head yet? xD)
Edited
Thanks I will, but jeez the Nintendo Gameboy had a actual sonar attachment for locating fish…
There’s a AVGN video on them. Look it up.
@Meanlucario
Interesting, I’m trying to remember just how many aftermarket accessories the Gameboy had… Things like .5 megapixel cameras and tiny little battery powered black and white printers… Magnifying glasses and lights so you can play in the dark… I think I even remember a TV tuner…
Yep.
Yes, but It wouldn’t have benefited them.
Yuup even Wallflover was forgotten, because karma
