Well yes but actually no... Interstellar simply used the most accurate depiction of gravitational lensing, i just shifted the event horizon a little to one side and added the Doppler effect(redshift and blueshift) rto make it just a little more accurate, you can also see a planet being ripped apart by tidal forces in the left side of the accretion disk
