Animals suffering tend to be cute.
Not really, no, at least not anymore than it’s a wonder you don’t step on your own feet while walking - you have a sense, called proprioception, that always tells you what position the parts of your body are in relative to each other, without needing to be able to see them. And since Non’s tail, like that of all tatzlponies, is fully prehensile, he shouldn’t have any issue not stepping on it.
