Dusk Shine is not an OC, he’s an R63 of Twilight Sparkle. This is a fact.  
Eris is not an OC, she’s an R63 of Discord. This is a fact.
 
If people decide to use Eris as a different character, which they’re allowed to do, that does not change the fact that the default Eris is an R63 and not an OC. I don’t know why you’re having trouble understanding this really simple concept.

If Eris, which looks exactly like Discord but female, is an OC and not the R63 of Discord, then what would female Discord look like? This is the dumbest argument ever.

You can’t be serious. This isn’t a super crown. She is named Eris after the greed goddess of chaos, because she’s the opposite sex of Discord. This argument makes no sense because almost every R63 has a different name.

She is still a character unto herself, despite the origin, therefore OC is correct. Otherwise she wouldn’t be named as Eris but Discordia or Discordette.

Yeah, people can write about whatever they want. That does not change the fact of what R63 means and is. If people want to take a concept and do something different with it, that does not change what the base concept is.

It’s not a full on OC. It’s an interpretation of what a canon character might be as the opposite sex. R63 and OCs are two totally different things.
