A prototype character sheet of Sunset Shimmer, that is, the Human counterpart to the Equestrian Pony Sunset Shimmer, or Human Shimmer for distinction. This is a prototype design for Human Shimmer from a fan-fiction of mine. She is a member of a secretive global organization known as the Technological Consortium, or just “The Consortium” or TEC for short, which holds science and technology in the highest regard and has secretly safeguarded Humanity from the supernatural and other threats for centuries.
 
Sunset Shimmers job is observation, and she has been assigned to monitor Canterlot High, her Equestrian counterpart and her friends.
 
PERSONALITY  
Human Shimmer is almost humourless, she is dead serious all the time and is dedicated to her job and safeguarding the masses. She often comes off as ruthless, malicious and vengeful, particularly towards those who upset the order that the Technological Consortium has established, especially the chaotic and untrustworthy supernatural beings that threaten her world.
 
She also has a very high IQ, and the Consortium respects intelligence. It is this intelligence that has placed Human Shimmer at a higher than average position for someone her age, and Shimmer is proud of her strong mind. She gets along extremely well with fellow intellectuals as long as they are not beholden to arrogance and a high and mighty attitude about their intellect.
 
She is still in meanie mode, similar to how Sunset Shimmer was in the original Equestria Girls movie, but more serious and with a “stick up her butt” professional attitude regarding her job. She is prone to insulting the Rainbooms and their friends when they meet.

CASUAL ATTIRE  
Human Shimmers preferred style of dress when off-duty. Cool but with a touch of sophistication.
 
BASE UNIFORM  
The standard uniform of Consortium members when stationed within one of their bases.
 
OPERATIONS  
Operatives typically wear something like this when on a mission that does not involve being in disguise or hiding in plain sight. The insignia on the right arm signifies the operatives speciality and role, in Human Shimmer’s case, she is adept with electronic devices, particularly ones for reconnaissance and information gathering.
 
CLASS: TECHNOLOGIST  
The role of Technologist revolves around inventing, constructing and/or maintaining highly sophisticated devices, and one is typically included in teams of operatives to maintain their gadgets and operate and maintain a communications network if one is in use. They often find themselves working with the Engineer class of operative.
 
THE TECHNOLOGICAL CONSORTIUM  
The primary recurring antagonists of the series, who have a strong presence in every season. The Technological Consortium, or just “The Consortium” for short, with members often being referred to as “Techs” by those know of it, such as the Rainbooms.
 
The Consortium is a secret global organization which runs most of what goes on in the world, through controlling and influencing people in key-positions to using their resources to nudge events in one direction or another. They pursue, hunt, and police the mystical and supernatural elements of the world, but they also pursue rogue scientists, AI’s, dangerous technology, super villains and other especially dangerous criminals, as well as safeguarding against natural and unnatural disasters, but magic and the supernatural are what they spent most of their time guarding the world from. Think of the Consortium as a combination of The Men in Black, the SCP Foundation and the Technocratic Union from Mage: The Ascension.
 
Being a practitioner of magic or a supernatural being does not mean destruction or imprisonment, but the Consortium will police and regulate any known practitioners of magic and any supernatural beings they are aware of, providing strict regulations and laws they must abide by. Indeed, the Consortium counts magic users and other supernatural beings as members, mainly acting as experts on magic and the supernatural and as special agents. Magic users and supernatural beings who do not wish to take part in Human society are typically relegated to quarantine or “preservation” zones, such as Everfree Forest and other places. Magic users and supernatural beings are free to live their lives as they wish as long as they do not pose a threat, and the Consortium frequently patrols around and through these zones. Many who are relegated to quarantine zones feel understandably oppressed, and the consortium is viewed as an oppressive and menacing force by some.
 
In the fan-fiction, the Consortium will frequently be at odds with the Rainbooms and the denizens of Equestria, who they see as rogue elements and potential threats. The Consortium has been watching the Rainbooms and their antics for quite some time, and have been assisting them from behind the scenes in hopes that the Equestrian portal problem will resolve itself while taking steps to perform damage control or commit resources to backup plans should the Rainbooms fail. For example, they were prepared to step in during the initial Sunset Shimmer and Midnight Sparkle incidents before those things resolved themselves. Sometimes their assistance was necessary, such as during the Sirens incident, where they sent another of their young operatives, Vinyl Scratch, to free the Rainbooms and provide them with aid against The Dazzlings. What, you think Vinyl Scratch just so happened to show up with a giant transforming speaker-equipped car…?
 
 
THE FAN FICTION  
I tend to plan my fan-fictions like a television series, averaging at 6 seasons so I can plan various events and development throughout. I would plan to have Human Shimmer be the primary antagonist of season 1, with the Dazzlings as secondary antagonists. The Rainbooms initially assume Human Shimmer is evil, but when finally confronted for a finale, they learn she and the organization she belongs to are genuinely concerned about the safety of the Human race and are not even malevolent towards magic, the supernatural and so forth, they just want to regulate it and protect people from danger, they are antagonists, not true villains.
 
In my fan-fiction series, she works as part of a team made up of Sunny Flare, Sunset Shimmer(Human), Sour Sweet, Indigo Zap, Vinyl Scratch, Starlight Glimmer and Moondancer.

The Consortium is responsible for the seeming absence of magic and other supernatural elements in the Human world, but that is not to say that they aren’t there, it is simply in hiding, under quarantine and sometimes what could be described as house arrest. Most magic users practice their art in secret, some do so under scrutiny and regulation by the Consortium, and some even work for the Consortium as experts on magic.
