Is she half pony or are changelings like the Asari?

The way I see it Queen Chrysalis was never like a queen bee to them at all. More like a central battery. The way I see it was see had convinced them that she was the only being worthy of receiving their love. For my idea to have two parents the changeling must receive or original steal it and also give some or original praise her. So original they would go steal some love and afterword praise until either they or her puked out another child. This also explains why Thorax is a brother to Pharynx and that Queen Chrysalis may not have even birth these two.
 
When Chrysalis was removed they were able to give and receive love more freely which allowed the species to grow much faster.
 
And really the Shrieker logic isn’t really that world breaking since Tremors based the reproduction cycles on actual scientific word known as fission, which means the creature split itself or a piece of itself off to create a new one when it has eaten enough resources. with most fission there is only one parent, but with the changelings, since they meal is love they can infer to having two parents or just one, it really depends if the resource is mutual to the reproduction process.

That or Joestar Changelings can warp the fabric of reality to create partially developed adolescents who like school. XD
 
…Actually, that stupid joke theory makes me think about how we don’t exactly know the procees that made Thorax transform in S06E26, and it’s possible if however unlikely that love can change changelings entire genetic makeup, i.e., they’re no longer related to Chrys… Which is subsequently also a stupid theory, but eh. >w<

Well, this is more based on my AU rather than canon. Though yes I believe changeling biology is much more different the normal ponies especially since the idea in this was much to Trixie’s disappointment and confusion she didn’t need to have any nightly fun to create Ocellus or need to birth her herself. Think Shrieker logic from Tremors.

My knee-jerk is to point out that Ocellus is too old for this to be possible, but given we know nothing about how fast changelings mature and her unexplained unique character design, this would explain too much. (I can rationalize her family from “Hearth’s Warming Club” as adopting family units as opposed to any indication of biological relation.)

The way I see she never directly states which changeling in that scene takes which role in the family so you could almost argue that she just has a lot of siblings and that Pharynx was too busy with royal duties to show up.
 
It doesn’t matter either way with me anyway though since this is based on my AU rather than actual canon.

Not on board the ‘Pharynx is Ocellus’s dad’ train, especially following the Hearthswarming traditions episode, but I have to say her color scheme matches these two as parents ridiculously well.

Changeling always look better with those lovely sharp teeth. They’re very endearing.  
They even look good on Ocellus, that sweet little bookbug.
 
I also love those shiny monocolour eyes. They’re just so bright and adorable.
