Well, even though they want Applejack to be voiced by a black woman in order to make her more urban (even though not all black women grew up in the big city and not all of them grew up in poor families), I don’t think she’ll act sterotypical. She would more or less act like Tempest Shadow, who isn’t I don’t consider a black stereotype (let’s just ignore for a bit the fact she was voiced by a white actress). Although, I think all of the Mane 6 may have their sassy moments depending on the moment.

How much you wanna bet that by making AJ, the element of honesty, a streetwise black girl she’s gonna be the “tell it like it is, sista,” kinds of girl. Like that one black chick from American Dragon.

That’s why I specified the death of the company. Pretty much the only thing that is ever going to join the public domain now is abandoned IPs. And it’s still a lot of decades before those become public domain.

As long as Disney’s still got Mickey, I wouldn’t bet much on it. Those rights were originally meant to expire in 1984, just to give some perspective.

Since most of what we know about Gen 5 is from December 2017 and before, they probably already decided lots of stuff (I think they were pretty close to choose the final designs). What we know is that they want to do Gen 5 similar to Gravity Falls, Star vs. the Forces of Evil and the current version of DuckTales, so everything will be okay!

I think in order to make the 2020 date, they would have had to had decide such things by now.

I’m pretty sure they haven’t gotten that far yet. Maybe someone will correct me about that.

What I’m most dreading is that they’ll go the ten-minute-fluff route like so many other reboots instead of full episodes with the sort of story/character development we’re used to. Everyone’s saying “can we sell as many toys with half the time and effort put into the shows?”
 
I dread we’re going down the Teen Titans Go path to hell. Even if it’s not pure slapstick like that one, compare the new Ben 10 to the old. Do we know anything about G5 episode runtime?
