But to anwser your question. Yes! The big breakthrough of modern radar systems happend slighlty before and during WW2. The british for example had the chain home. A ring of early warning radar stations around the coast built by the Royal Air Force before and during WW2 to detect enemy aircraft.
And the Germans had for example the Würzburg Radars which did use the classic radar dish design.

True. But then I’m a little bit confused about the red radar tower in the background. I’m no expert in aerial based technology, but was such a thing around in 1945? Especially this type? Just curious. :-)
