Shadows of the Past is a continuation of my previous web Comic “Without Magic”, in which Twilight was tasked with finding out out “what makes her special as a pony” outside of magic. You do not need to have read Without Magic in order to enjoy Shadows of the past, though some scenes will make more sense if you have.
If you’re wondering about the Lyra and BonBon scene, it’s because sooooo many shows\comics\games are adding in token minority\gay characters who sever no real purpose in the wider narrative, but are being included so that the writers can say that their products are “diverse”. It’s a really irritating trend. Like how so many shows from the 1990s would have a black character who speaks like how a white person thinks somebody from the hood speaks.

That’s part of the humor.
yep, that’s clearly what she’s saying.
I usually hear ‘millennial’ as ‘dang kids nowadays’, so I’m not inclined to give any criticism of the millennial generation much weight. As for snowflakes, people getting their feelings/agenda hurt is something that happens all across the political spectrum.
>was born in 1991
Huh, that makes me a Millennial, and yet I’m just fine with this comic.
Many people misuse the term “Millennial” on the Internet. It’s just a replacement for “Generation Y”. So you have to be born before 1980 to not be a “Millennial”.
Those born after 2000 were “Generation Z” (which will have to get a new name eventually considering they replaced Generation Y).
The author is basically trying to avoid a Flame War, plus the idea that members of the
aforementioned group might NOT react in an expected way, hence the usage of “might not be”
It’s entirely likely for a Snowflake (1) / Millennial (2) to read this and not raise any trouble.
Either they’ll just walk away or they’ll enjoy the comic and thus Flame War averted.
(1) Dafuq even IS a “Snowflake” in this context?
(2) What was it again? That minimum age that defines a Millennial?
Edited
Like most people, I’m fine dealing with ideas that run counter to or in conflict with my own. If they are meant as a genuine examinations of a situation or a cultural trait I’m happy to observe from an alternate point of view. If they are meant to demean, dismiss, or encourage negative actions then I’ll deal with them as the trash that they are…
… and an author/artist who demands that “snowflakes” not react to their work—the exact opposite of what art is meant for—will always get a down vote from me, no matter what agenda they are pushing.
