Because there is literally no reason for it. All that you have argued is apart of personality and NOT a thing to do with gender identity. Also I have been an emotional fellow all my life and not ONE PERSON has called me girly faggot or anything like that
@The Smiling Pony
…You know,they just taught me to fill a form “Gender:Male/Female” It was probably for the sake of clarity/brevity and also 10 years ago,that whole transgender/gender debate didnt make national headlines.Even now,in France,we dont talk of transexuality that much save for the occasional documentary on TV
@Background Pony #8F48
That’s great and all that you use that term, but language isn’t set in stone and people want to transfuse those “personality” archetypes into the sphere covered by gender.
Why are you affronted by people changing language to take an extraneous term (gender, which in the biological sense is already covered by sex) and give it a more purposeful meaning?
@Background Pony #E586
Unless you’re in your 70s, this change in meaning predates you, and your teachers failed you.
@Background Pony #8F48
Your comment doesn’t make much sense. You cannot argue that when you hear “They’re a Woman”, the first thing that comes to mind is a list of “womanly” things that come from society, not their actual sex. Women are not genetically predisposed to like dresses, they’re not genetically predisposed to like soccer but not baseball. But these things are still assumed because society has enforced those gender roles on that sex.
This is not a complicated issue, and it is not one that threatens anything.
Except for people that take “Boys don’t cry” as a mantra and are at the ready to call any guy that doesn’t “get” sports a girly faggot.

Thank you for putting in words my exact thoughts,i’m all for people being “tomboyish” or “butch” i have no problem with that ,i totally understand that girl dont have to be Barbie-playing housewife/can be mecanic and that boy can watch MLP (we’re here after all) but people act like fucking Shadoks about it(Why do simple when one can do complicated?) wanting to translate personality traits with scientific words like gender.Yes,you can be gay or a girl mechanic,why all the word salad about demigenderqueer or whatever ?
Is this something you can understand? It is not “I have magical nethers”, it’s just “I am more than what’s between my legs, and not necessarily like those that share my sex”.
I understand that what you are describing is called a personality.
@The Smiling Pony
That has nothing to do with gender. It is all about personality and life choices. There is no connection to them. Social aspects of society has your job be whatever you want as long as it is legal and worth a good profit
@The Smiling Pony
Fuck,i’m only in my twenties and i’m already left behind with all that talk about gender like an old man.Life come at you fast indeed.I swear to god,i’m not trying to be obtuse but when i learned english in high school,the word “gender” was presented to us with the “biological” definition.I’m sincerely completely lost with people wanting to be defined as “genderqueer” and once again i’m not being obtuse,i’m pretty sure so far there is no word in French for “genderqueer”,maybe it’s because our language is not “gender-neutral”,we gender object and all (il,elle,etc) that i’m so lost
@Background Pony #8F48
The great thing about language, and specifically English, is definitions change. “Sex” already exists to define the whole penis/vagina thing, the intent is, and has been for far longer than you’ve been alive, for “gender” to define the societal aspects that’ve traditionally accompanied them, but, thanks to us no longer being a bunch of troglodytes, no longer apply. As in there being male nurses and secretaries, female scientists and athletes, caring and nurturing fathers, sexually aggressive girls, etc. etc..
@The Smiling Pony
It’s really not hard to understand, but you’re talking to people that got their “education” from memes posted on /pol/ that are soleley based on strawman arguments against teenagers with neon colored hair.
@The Smiling Pony
So, just literally going against the actual definition of the word “gender” so you feel special. No wonder people say society is going downhill
@Background Pony #8B65 @Background Pony #E586
Here’s the thing: you know tomboys? And femboys? And Traps? And butchs? And so many more “irregular” representations of male/female? The whole idea is to treat those as gender, irrespective of sexual orientation.
The entire point is for someone to be able to say “I have a vagina” without the immediate write-in of their character being “I have a vagina, thus I like the colour pink, pretty dresses, read gossip magazines, and will faint if I chip a nail”. “I have a penis”, without the social demand that you be into sports or eager to get into a fight.
Is this something you can understand? It is not “I have magical nethers”, it’s just “I am more than what’s between my legs, and not necessarily like those that share my sex”.
comparing the reaction with the other image uploaded making the opposing claim getting downvoted by a load of triggered reactionaries, and seeing them here holing up in their safe space patting on each others back, i think it’s quite clear which bunch really is the triggered snowflakes
You’re all wrong I think you’ll find that there is actually. 1,392,245,379,452,739,361 genders. That’s how many genders there are. There are 13,922,453x more genders than there are stars in the our galaxy.
